Alumni Stories Christina Mei Hicks '07
Christina Mei Hicks ’07 graduated Westmont ready to save the world. Westmont pushed her out of her comfort zone and gave her opportunities to serve whether interning as a social worker in San Francisco, building a culture center in Mexico, singing on the Vespers team or co-hosting a radio show. “I was able to discover talents, interests and strengths I had no idea I could possess.” In the Czech Republic as a graphic designer for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Christina has had many opportunities to use her gifts to touch the world. “I have gotten to know people from all kinds of cultural backgrounds, hear their stories of war, injustice, imprisonment.” In all her interactions, Christina seeks to share her faith, encourage and love. Christina also sings in a gospel choir where her musical talent opens further doors to touch lives and share her faith. The passion for service Christina left Westmont with permeates her life: “through the years I have come to realize that every little single moment can be or lead to a significant one,” she says.
