Westmont Magazine Women’s Swimming Team Sets School Records
The Westmont women’s swimming team concluded its inaugural season by finishing tied for 22nd place at the NAIA National Championships in Tennessee. Bailey Lemmon, Allison Gonzalez, Rian Lewandowski and Gaby Rego scored the first points by Westmont swimmers in a national competition, setting a school record of 1:41.91 in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Lemmon led off the 200-yard freestyle relay with a school record time of 24.52 in the first 50 yards. Lemmon, Lewandowski, Morgan Bienias and Gonzalez lowered the school record to 1:41.91 in the preliminaries of the 400-yard medley relay. Bienias, Lewandowski, Lemmon and Gonzalez set another school record in the 200-yard medley relay, finishing in 12th place with a time of 1:51.54. The Warriors placed 10th at the Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference Championships and first among NAIA schools in the conference.
